TMR Scout Museum will be open this summer
Narrowsburg, N.Y. (July 8, 2020) -- The Ten Mile River Scout Museum, located on the grounds of Ten Mile River Scout Camps’ headquarters, 1481 County Road 26, Narrowsburg, N.Y. will open for the summer season soon after Sullivan County enters Phase IV; on or about July 16th. The hours are Thurs. - Sat., 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. EDT and 1:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. EDT. The museum will close for the summer six weeks after the opening date.
Museum personnel will be there to answer questions from visitors. The museum will follow all protocols to keep its visitors and staff safe. Masks must be worn at all times. No more than four visitors will be allowed in at a time. Social distancing must be maintained.
If people wish to visit outside the set hours, dialing, 845-252-2063 will allow them to make appointments. Information about schedule changes will be posted on the museum’s website, Facebook and Twitter feeds.
Additional summer programming from the museum includes webinars conducted with the National Parks Service, theater personalities, human resource professionals and others. Our next webinar, “How the Ten Mile River Got its Name,” a discussion of the rafting and lumbering industry in the upper Delaware River Valley will occur, Tues., July 14, 2020, 7 p.m. EDT. It will be conducted by Glenn Pontier, co-director, TMR museum, chair, Town of Highland Representative, former director, Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum. Sign up here. We also recognize the local history in the vicinity of the Ten Mile River Scout Camps.
